🔺Odisha’s Ganjam district has declared itself a child marriage-free district.

🔺Ganjam is the first district in Odisha that has been declared child marriage-free.

🔺The district administration has increased the reward for people informing about the occurrence of child marriage to ₹50,000 from ₹5000.

🔺Naveen Patnaik inaugurates India’s first ‘Fire Park’ in Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

🔺Tata Group company, Tata Steel Long Products Ltd’s (TSLP) has acquired Odisha-based Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL) for Rs 12,100 crore.

🔺Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL) is a steel plant located in Kalinganagar in Odisha and was shut in March 2020 due to continued losses. It has a capacity of  1.1 million tonnes a year.

🔺NINL is a joint venture of 4 CPSEs — MMTC, NMDC, BHEL, MECON and 2 Odisha Government PSUs - OMC and IPICOL.

🔺India and ADB inks $4.5 million project readiness financing loan to support urban mobility in Mizoram.

🔺The top five States in terms of forest cover as percentage of total geographical area are Mizoram (84.53%), Arunachal Pradesh (79.33%), Meghalaya (76.00%), Manipur (74.34%) and Nagaland (73.90%).

🔺South Maubuang in Aibawk block of Aizawl district in Mizoram has been declared as the model ODF Plus village.

🔺The village has fulfilled all the criteria as per SBM-G Phase II guidelines and all households and institutions have functional toilets and measures in place for effective management of solid and liquid waste.

🔺It has a population of 649 individuals from 116 households has emerged as the first ODF Plus village in the State of Mizoram.

🔺The United Nation Environment Programme (UNEP) signed an MoU with the Maharashtra government to support its ‘Majhi Vasundhara’campaign. It is an initiative towards sustainable use of energy and environmental development. The literal meaning of ‘Majhi Vasundhara’ is ‘My Earth’. 

🔺It is an initiative of the Environment and Climate Change Department, Government of Maharashtra.

🔺The 17th edition of Mumbai International Film Festival for Documentary, Short Fiction and Animation films (MIFF-2022) is scheduled to take place from 29 May to 4 June, 2022 at the Films Division complex, Mumbai.
